ONEGA

The series of objects in white porcelain created by Matteo Thun for Memphis enters the designer’s family tradition of pottery craftsmanship, while at the same time updating that tradition with a sort of “humorous anti-functionalism.” The Onega cup (1982) is “interlocked” on a spherical form that in turn rests on shaped triangular segments, breaking all the rules of ergonomics.
